Neel Cole & Southern St. deliver a timeless ode on the powerful inspirational “Face The Day”.

Neel Cole & Southern St. - Face The Day

Neel Cole & Southern St. offer a raw grit and soul on the powerful slice of Americana “Face The Day”. They offer a clever mixture of country rock, post-rock, and pop in a way that is uniquely their own. Full of a tremendous optimism the song races on through with all cylinders blasting. Vocals here possess so much heart behind them, with lyrics that seem to accurately depict what it means to wake up and try to face another day. Interplay within the group adds to its sense of purpose for they hold absolutely nothing back. The rhythm section in particular has a rather gallant air behind it, as it nicely races forward and pulls back when it needs to.

A sense of anticipation begins the whole of the piece, with the guitars ringing out into the distance. The buildup happens quite delicately as small nods, little flourishes and details, come into the fray. Full of a joyous energy there is a purpose behind every single moment, as they add up to become a triumphant sound. Within the track they touch the very soul as they grow the entirety of the riffs ever upwards until they become quite soaring in scope to observe. Distortion further adds a little bit of a western twang to some of their more-spaced out moments, particularly as they gallop towards the finale.

Everything here works wonders for Neel Cole & Southern St. deliver a timeless ode on the powerful inspirational “Face The Day”.
