Theresa Releases New Single 'Magic', Living her Dream of Pop Stardom

In everyday life, Theresa is an advertising music executive, which wouldn’t help you guess what she does by night; she’s a popstar and performer. At 42 years young, Theresa is making her mark on the pop scene with her danceable, upbeat songs. She has aspired to become a popstar since she was young, and started writing songs at the age of 11 in an attempt to become the next Madonna.

Madonna isn’t her only source of influence though, Theresa also looks to the 80s and 90s and draws inspiration from icons like Blondie, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, and Duran Duran. It’s not too hard to hear the influence of these music pioneers in Theresa’s work, and she always puts her own twist on any idea that’s inspired her. Her single Evolution of a Lady is reminiscent of Debbie Harry’s vocals, whilst her latest single Under The Influence has definitely got that sprinkle of Madonna. In fact, in Marathon, I can definitely hear a bit of Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders.

Her upcoming single, Magic, that will be released on 1st July, is certainly a Gaga-esque tune. Don’t be mistaken though, Theresa absolutely has her own style. She has attitude. She has confidence. This all shines through in her music. Magic is an uplifting pop track with all the right ingredients for getting people on the Theresa hype train; inspiring lyrics, positivity, a powerful voice, and a beat made for dancing. This new tune will mark her 12th new single since her debut in 2019, letting the music world know that she means business.

“I wanted to BE Madonna when I was younger,” admits Theresa. “It really wasn’t about her sex appeal. I just loved her style and her story. I loved seeing what she was going to do next. And I loved that she did it ALL. She wrote, she sang, she acted. And she still does it on her terms.”
