Whisper The World Away': Thought-provoking Music from UK Artist Larry Mindel

Larry Mindel is back with his new single ‘Whisper The World Away’, which was released last week. Having paired up with Italian producer Matteo Galesi for this folk-infused single, we hear something a little different to Mindel's debut album release 'Love in Troubled Times' (2020). That album is well worth listening to, recorded during the lull of 2020 lockdown, featuring some of London’s best young jazz musicians alongside players rooted in acoustic traditions.

For this single, Mindel opted for something the same but different. The low-key folk notes of 'Whisper The World Away' are carried effortlessly by a glorious string arrangement by multi-instrumentalist Joao Silva from Portugal, who is one half of the band Still Life. The music video itself is a homage to the lyrics, with images of luscious hills and lakes, created by London film-maker Rob Thom. With many great influences working on the folk-style track, it is no wonder that the single has become so evocative and is bursting with imagery. Whisper The World Away is a captivating three-minute symphony, well worth your time.
